MRS. GEORGE WELLS SUCCUMBS AT OSAGE

Osage, May 2. – Mrs. George Wells, who was ill with a case of erysipelas, gave birth to a baby Wednesday and both mother and child died Wednesday, leaving the father with four small children.

Funeral services were held at Champion’s funeral home Friday morning, prior to taking the body to Chester for burial. The family lived in a house on the Garfield Moody farm north of Osage.

Ethel N Nichols was born September 1899 in Iowa, the daughter of David and Ella (Stockdale) Nichols. She married George A Wells, the son of Albert and Harriett (Phillips) Wells. **info from 1900 and 1925 Iowa Census records.
