Funeral services for Cora Lorenzen were held at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, Thursday, January 3, 1985, the date that would have been her 93rd birthday.

Cora Louise Torgerson Lorenzen was born at Lyle, Minnesota on January 3, 1892, the daughter of Ole and Sarah Berg Torgerson. Cora grew up on a farm near Bolan, Iowa, attending rural schools and a dressmaking course in Austin.

She was united in marriage to Martin Lorenzen of St. Ansgar on December 9, 1915. They lived on a farm north of St. Ansgar until retiring to St. Ansgar in 1962. Cora lived with her daughter, Viola, from 1963 to 1972 when she moved to the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, her home until her passing.

Surviving are her son-in-law Hugh Neeley of St. Ansgar, four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Lloyd Durbin, Topeka, Kansas, Edith Torgerson, St. Ansgar, and Mrs. Albert Swenson, Council Bluffs.

Her husband of 47 years, Martin, daughter Viola Neeley, her parents, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

The Rev. Loyd Johnson officiated at the funeral service. Burial was in the Osage Cemtery, Osage, Iowa.
