OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Osage, for Robert Pelleymounter, 70, of Osage, who died Thursday (September 14, 1989) at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage, of natural causes.
The Rev. Leon Connolly will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, where military rites will be conducted by the Osage American Legion Post 278 and Osage VFW Post 7920.
Visitation is after 1:00 pm Sunday at Champion Funeral Home, Osage, where a rosary will be said at 3:00 pm Sunday and a Scripture service will be held at 7:30 pm Sunday.
Mr. Pelleymounter was born May 9, 1919 in Manly, to Robin and Mary (Popp) Pelleymounter. He moved to Osage with his family and graduated from Osage High School in 1939.
On June 17, 1946, he married Roberta Smith in Charles City. He had owned the Osage Cab Co. and worked for Bartsch Electric Supply Co., Osage. He later purchased the electric company and it became known as Pelley's Electric. He had worked at Winnebago Industries, Forest City, and as a salesman at Spahn and Rose Lumber Co., Osage until his retirement.
A veteran of World War II, he ws a member of the Osage American Legion, Osage VFW and Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta, Osage; four daughters, Mrs. Joe (Ann) Longo, Jacksonville, Florida; Carol Newton and Mrs. Jeff (Julie) Voaklander, both of Osage, and Mrs. Bill (Dawn) Johanns, New Haven; two sons, Gregory, Venice, Florida, and Charles, Madison, Wisconsin; 15 grand-children; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Austie) Smith and Mrs. Kathryn Elliott, both of Osage; and four brothers, Dick, Roman and Kenneth, all of Osage, and Bernard, Ackley.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
