J. B. ARMSTRONG SERVICES HELD AT McINTIREMcIntire – Joseph Bernard Armstrong, 77, died July 24th in a Waterloo nursing home. Funeral services were held Saturday at St. Mel’s Catholic Church, McIntire, with burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Lourdes.
Me was married to Margaret O’Connors at Elma and farmed in Howard and Mitchell Counties until retiring five years ago.
Surviving are his wife, six children; Tom, McIntire; Casnor, Waterloo; Robert, Washburn, Iowa; Gerald, Springdale, Ark.; Mrs. John (Margaret) Malone, Chicago; Mrs. Charles (Marian) Decklever, Denver, Colo.; 27 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two brothers; William and Louis; and a sister; Mrs. Nellie Cummings, all of Chester.
He was preceded in death by a son, Virgil; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Ball; four brothers and a sister.Mason City Globe Gazette, Tuesday July 31, 1962
