FARMER NEAR OSAGE DIES IN HOSITAL; FUNERAL WEDNESDAY

Osage -- John Pickering, 75, farmer near Osage, died at a hospital at Charles City Sunday evening following surgery. Tentative rites are set for Wednesday at the Champion Funeral Home with burial in the Osage Cemetery.

Mr. Pickering leaves the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Ralph Lesch, Osage; a granddaughter and two brothers, Ross and Arthur, of Salina, Kansas.

Mr. Pickering was born in Tennessee, then moved to Kansas and came to a farm near Osage when he was 21. Following his marriage in 1900 he lived on a farm near Osage the rest of his life with the exception of 4 years in Bowman, North Dakota.

John Pickering was born May 2, 1876 in Tennessee, the son of Alexander C. and Margaret Pickering. He married Emma A Wright, the daughter of Giles and Katie (Jurrens) Wright.
