JAMES DURYEA DIES AT OSAGE
91 YEAR OLD RESIDENT IS SURVIVED BY WIFE, AND ADOPTED DAUGHTEROsage – James Duryea, 91, died last night at his home here. He was for many years a resident of the Little Cedar and Osage communities.
Survivors include Mrs. Duryea and an adopted daughter, Mrs. Will Cooper of Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon in the Shelby Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.Mason City Globe Gazette, Wednesday August 28, 1940

James Young Duryea was born March 17, 1849 in New York, the son of James Duryea Sr. and Keziah Godfrey. He married Jane Tweedie, the daughter of Samuel Tweedie and Abagaie Gampol(the parents names are from the 1925 Iowa Census). Jane was also known as Jennie. His middle name is from a tree found on Ancestry.
