Funeral services for Oscar Fleenor, 92, of Osage were Monday, September 10 at First Baptist Church in Osage. Reverend George Hope officiated at the service with burial in the Osage Cemetery. He died Friday, September 7 at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Oscar Fleenor was born July 27, 1892 near Little York, Indiana, to John and Samantha Fairbush Fleenor. He married Belle McKinney on February 3, 1915 in Otterbein, Indiana.
They moved to Mitchell County in 1916 and farmed there until retiring to Osage in 1967.
Mr. Fleenor is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Earl (Mary Belle) Ahrens, Mrs. Zola Naig, Mrs. Joe (Ruth) Schultz and Mrs. Paul (Hazel) Benson, all of Osage; Mrs. Luvern (Ruby) Weber, Charles City and Mrs. Roger (Betty) Moore, Elgin, Illinois; a son, Roy Fleenor of Little Cedar; 29 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and a brother, Arthur Fleenor, Portland, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter.
