RITES CONDUCTED HERE TUESDAY FOR GEO. LEWIS

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church for George Merriman Lewis, who died Saturday. Mr. Lewis had reached the age of 66 year, 11 months and 4 days.

He was born in Osage, Mitchell Co., Iowa, March 30, 1872, and came to South Dakota in 1901 locating at Peaver. In 1904 he moved to this city and engaged in draying business for two years before going to work on the Milwaukee Railroad. Mr. Lewis worked for the railroad until August 1938, when failing health forced his retirement.

Surviving him are his wife, two sons, George and Edward, at home and two daughters; Mrs. June Seneguy, Seattle, Wash.; and Mrs. William Kloha, of LeMars, Iowa. Also surviving are five grandchildren, one brother, William, of Milbank, four nieces and eight nephews.

Rev. Bruce Swain officiated at the services at the home and at the church. Burial was made in the Milbank cemetery.

Out of town attendants at the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. William Klohs and son, Mailand, and Mrs. John Klohn, of LeMars, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Miller, Wauby; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Nixon, Ortonville; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Anderson, Summit; Mrs. Henry Buck, Summit; and Mrs. Clifford Wildung and son, Nassau, Minn.
