Ferdinand George Jordan 1899-1984

Services were held Saturday, Janaury 14, 1984, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Ansgar for Ferdinand Jordan, age 84, who died on Thursday, January 12, 1984. Rev. Norman Betke officiated at the service with burial in the Immanuel Cemetery.

Ferdinand George Jordan, the son of August Ferdinand and Eva Gutmann Jordan, was born in
Rock Township, Mitchell County, on September 29, 1899. He was baptized on October 29, 1899 by Rev. John Becker at St. John's Lutheran Church of Rock township. He was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of St. Ansgar on April 5, 1914 and remained a life-long member of that church.

On November 20, 1922 he was united in marriage to Bertha Bork at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Grafton. He farmed in the Grafton area, Worth county and then moved to the Emil Feldt farm west of St. Ansgar until November 1931. He moved to Rock Township and farmed there until retiring in August of 1953 and moving to St. Ansgar.

He did carpentry work in the St. Ansgar area and was responsible for the County Park maintenance for some years and also worked as maintenance man for the Good Samaritan Center for several years. He served as an officer of Immanuel Lutheran Church during the past years and was a member of its Voter's Assembly.

He became a resident of the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar on December 13.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Bertha; his parents; four brothers, August, George, William and one in infancy; four sisters, Matie Krueger, Laura Cross, Bobette Bublitz and Emma Pahl.

Survivors include his sons, Alfred and Edwin of St. Ansgar; two grandchildren, Mrs. Kenneth (Linda) Kroneman of Osage and Larry Jordan of Cedar Park, Texas, and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Tressa and Amber Jordan of Texas.
