Gladys M. Sours

#1:

Born in Rochester, MN, and moved to Osage, IA at age 6 where she lived until she married Ray Sours of Waterloo, Iowa.

They lived in Waterloo until 1945 when the family moved to California. where she worked 25 yrs. with Guys Drug Store in Oakland managing the contract Post Office stn. in the store. Gladys later retired to the Sacramento area where she worked with the Carmichael Chamber of Comm.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ray, granddaughter Miriam and brother Raymond. She is survived by children, Robert, JoAnn and Elaine (Harry); granddaughters Karen, Sharon, Janatha and Julie; great-grandchildren, Melissa, Laura, Alicia, Corey, Ashlie, Travis, Dylan and Kenadie, great-great-grandsons, Anthony and Shawn. Friends are welcome for visitation Tuesday, April 27, 4-8pm and are invited to the Holy Rosary at 7 pm at Price Funeral Chapel (6335 Sunrise Blvd., Citrus Heights, 725-2109). Interment Hayward, CA.

NOTES:

Gladys was the daughter of Edward John and Loretta Agnes Marley Moran. She graduated from Osage High School, Osage, Iowa in 1927, and married Raymond Sours (son of Mr. & Mrs. Phillip Sours) December 26, 1933 at Sacred Heart Church, Osage, Iowa. After a wedding trip to Henley, Illinois, the couple lived in Waterloo, Iowa, where Mr. Sours was a linotype operator for the Waterloo Daily Courier. He was similarly employed by the Osage News previously.
