THOMAS K. FELPER

LIME SPRINGS - Thomas Felper, 87, died Sunday (Dec. 16, 2001) at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, where he had been a short time.

His funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Riceville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Carey officiating. Burial will be in LeRoy Cemetery, LeRoy, Minn.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hindt-Hutchins Funeral Home, LeRoy, and one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.

Thomas Felper was born February 9, 1914, to Thomas Felper and Nina Ritter in Mitchell County, Iowa.

He was united in marriage to Lois Stanbro on May 8, 1933, in Preston, Minn. She passed away in 1985.

Tom was later united in marriage to Opal Jensson in Lime Springs, Iowa, and Opal passed away in January 1994.

Tom farmed most of his life and semi retired in the late '60s. He then purchased a grain truck and hauled grain for approximately 10 years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and visiting with his friends.

He is survived by daughter, Alma and Eugene Hickey of Kewanee, Illinois; sons Arnold and Mardella Felper and Amil and Leota Felper, both of Riceville; daughter, Ardella Felper of Cresco; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Nora Hamilton of Elkton, Minn; and a special friend, Marilyn Irwin of Riceville.

Tom was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois, and his second wife, Opal; a son; six brothers; two sisters; one half brother; and two half sisters.
