RUTH E. CONKLIN

OSAGE, IOWA - Ruth E. Conklin, 84, of Osage, died Tuesday (Oct. 2, 2001) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in the Hospice Inpatient Unit in Osage.

Her memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash St., Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. Roy Ott officiating. A private family interment will occur on Saturday morning at the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, where the family will greet friends.

Ruth Ellen Cordes Conklin was born on March 13, 1917, in Osage to Albert and Ellen (Thompson) Cordes. She graduated from Osage High School in 1934. She then attended Gates Business College in Waterloo and graduated in 1936.

After graduation she worked at the Home Trust and Savings Bank for 20 years until retirement.

She was a past member of the National Association of Bank Women. Ruth was married to Jack M. Conklin on Sept. 22, 1940, in Osage. They recently celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Mrs. Bert (Katherine) Pasco and Mrs. Bill (Dorothy) Gilles.

Survivors include her husband, Jack; one daughter, Mrs. Bill (Ellen) Trammell of Osage; one granddaughter, Mrs. David (Tanya) Womeldorf of Lakeville, Minn.; one great-granddaughter, Samantha Womeldorf, also of Lakeville.

Memorials may be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 833 Ash Street, Osage, Iowa 50461.
