OLE ODDEN OF OSAGE BURIED
MITCHELL COUNTY TREASURER SINCE 1920 LEAVES WIFE AND 4 CHILDRENOsage. Oct., 26 – Ole Odden, who held the office of Mitchell County treasurer since 1920, died at his home here Wednesday evening. He had been in failing health the past year, and for the last nine weeks confined to his bed.
Mr. Odden was born In Cedar township, Mitchell County in 1867. His parents, Lars and Olea Odden came from Norway in 1854.
At 17, Ole came to Osage, working in town and later engaging in business in the general store of Johnson and Odden, from 1907 until chosen to the office of county treasurer.
He was married to Cora Hansen of Lake Mills in 1904, who survives him with his four children; Clarice, who has been his office assistant; Mrs. E. C. Tessman of Austin; Dr. Loren Odden of New York City; and Jean who is engaged in administering an estate in New York; two brothers, Hans of Osage; and Ed of New Essington, S. Dak.
Services in Osage Lutheran church were held Friday in charge of the Rev. T. P. Solem and burial was at Osage.
