Duane Clinton Shomber
MASON CITY, IOWA -- Duane Clinton Shomber, 60, of Mason City, died Monday, July 14, 1997, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the St. Ansgar Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Gonnerman officiating. Burial will be in the Orchard Cemetery, Orchard.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Duane was born June 16, 1937, at the Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, Kansas.
He was baptized in the Nora Springs Christian Church.
He graduated from Charles City High School in 1955. Soon after, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was discharged in October of 1959.
He is survived by his father, Clinton O. Shomber, Osage; stepfather, Clifford A. Moody of Ottawa, Kansas; four sisters, Louise Hinrichsen, Barbara Miller, Dorothy Turner and Linda Riker, all of Osage; one brother, Charles E. Shomber of Augusta, Georgia; one stepbrother, Larry Moody of Las Vegas, Nevada; and numerous nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Eunice Moody; and his stepmother, Margaret Shomber.
