Mrs. Frank (Gudrun) Jones, 79 of Osage and formerly of McIntire, died Sunday August 19, 1990 at the Maple Manor Nursing Home in Osage.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Osage with the Rev. Joseph Nesheim, the Rev. Dennis Hanson and the Rev. John Gilbert officiating. Burial was in the Wayne Township Cemetery, rural McIntire.

Gudrun was born at Birisnertingdalen, Norway on July 14, 1911 to Peter and Marie (Elingson) Drogset. She came to Bode, Iowa in 1923 where she joined her mother and stepfather Chris and Marie Olson.

She attended school at Bode, Iowa and was confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church at Bode. She moved with her parents to McIntire and married Frank Jones on March 30, 1935 at Osage. They farmed near McIntire until 1946 when they moved to McIntire. She was school lunch supervisor at the McIntire and Riceville schools for 28 years, retiring in 1977.

She was a member of Sons of Norway, Borlaugh Lodge and Our Saviours's Lutheran Church of Osage and the Abegail Circle.

Survivors include her husband, Frank, of Osage; two sons, Richard of Willmar, Minnesota and Edward of Delavan, Minnesota; one sister, Lilly Siple, Rochester, Minnesota; three granddaughters (Gwen, Maura and Lisa Jones) and one grandson (Brian Jones).

She was preceded in death by her parents and one step-brother.
