Josephine M. Popp, 83, of Kenosha, Wisconsin formerly of Osage, died Sunday (October 29, 1989) at Clairidge House in Kenosha, Wisconsin, of natural causes.
Interment will be at 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Osage. The Rev. Leon Connolly will officiate. The Proko Funeral Home in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Popp was born February 17, 1906, in Osiak, Yugoslavia, to Carl and Katherine (John) Nemeth. She moved to Osage from Yugoslavia in 1918.
She married Orvin H. Popp on April 15, 1925 in Osage. They made their home in the Cartersville and Mason City areas. He died in 1953.
In 1956 she moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin. She was employed as a housekeeper for St. Mary’s Catholic Church rectory and St. James Catholic Church rectory in Kenosha, Wisconsin for 21 years.
Mrs. Popp is survived by one son, Louis F., Kenosha, Wisconsin; four grandchildrenl three great-grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. John (Mary) Franzen, Seminole, Florida; Mrs Norman (Katherine) Morrison, McHenry, Maryland; Mrs. Eva Karls, Seminole, Florida; and Mrs. Sylvester (Ann) Willkomm, Dunbar, Wisconsin; and three brothers: Emil Nemeth, St. Ansgar; Albert Nemeth, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and Carl Nemeth, Appleton, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and infant son, one brother and one sister.
