Funeral services for Mrs. Gustav Leraaen, 75, of St. Ansgar, who died April 25, 1979, were held April 28 at First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating.

Sena Rebecca Leraaen was born January 13, 1904 in Otranto township, the daughter of Knut O. and Gertrude (Nordness) Knutson. She was baptized and confirmed at Mona Lutheran church by the Rev. A. Elmer Moe. She attended public school in Mitchell county.

She married Gustav Leraaen September 14, 1927. Three children were born to them. They resided in Newburg township until 1937 when they moved to St. Ansgar. Mr. and Mrs. Leraaen celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1977.

Mrs. Leraaen was a member of First Lutheran church, the ALCW and the Martha circle. She was a member of the local American Legion Auxiliary and had helped with the meals on wheels program.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Bonnie) Petznick of ElCajon, Calif.; two sons, Galen A. Leraaen and Oral K. Leraaen of St. Ansgar; eight grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.

Mrs. Leraaen was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ina Bowers and Bessie Schulze, and one brother, Orvin Knutson.

Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Engelstad in charge of the committal services.
