Guri O. Hanson was born March 2, 1852 at Nas, Hallingdal, Norway. With her parents she came to America in 1866. They at first made their home in Newburg township in this county, but a little later settled just over the line in Worth County which continued to be the family home. She was confirmed by Rev. C.L. Clausen in 1867. December 22, 1873, she was married by Rev. J. Olsen to P.I. Kinneberg who is still living. To this union 14 children were born, seven of whom are still living. Five sons died in infancy or early childhood and Iver died of consumpton five years ago at the age of 19, while Palma, died at the age of 14 of spinalmeningitis eight years ago. Mrs. Kinneberg was taken sick 3 years ago. Two years ago in March she went to Rochester and had an operation performed for cancer. For a time she was better but after a while the old trouble returned and she gradually grew worse until she breathed her last April 13, 1909. Seven children, two sons and five daughters remain to mourn her loss. They are Mrs. C.C. Bartell of Waterloo, and Ole and Martin, Mathilde, Ida, Georgia and Olga of St. Ansgar. The funeral was conducted at the St. Ansgar N.L. Church April 15, 1909, by Rev. M.E. Waldeland and her remains were laid to rest in the St. Ansgar N.L. Cemetery.
