Carl R. Iverson, whose work took him from North Dakota to New York to Chicago, died Thursday, August 20, 1984 at his home in Mason City at the age of 86.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 1 at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City with Reverend Murley Severtson of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial was in the Rock Creek Cemetery in Meroa where graveside services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
Carl R. Iverson was born September 25, 1896 in Mitchell County to Gulbrand and Ragnild Iverson. He graduated from Waldorf College in Forest City and in 1919 received his bachelor of arts degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.
After teaching high school in North Dakota for a short time, he moved to New York in 1923 and worked as a sales representative for a bonding company. He then moved to Chicago and worked as a factory representative until retiring in 1963.
He lived in Waterloo a short time before moving to Mason City in 1973.
He was a veteran of World War II and in the Army ROTC in World War I. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Orville (Georgia) Berg and Mrs. Ethyl Guyette, both of Osage.
