Graveside services for Edward F. Holt, 87, of Sycamore, Illinois, formerly of Riceville, Iowa, were held on Monday, August 27, 1984, at the Riverside Cemetery, Riceville, Iowa. He died on Thursday, August 23, 1984, at a Sycamore, Illinois, hospital. Rev. L. Carlson officiated.
Mr. Holt was aretired farmer. He was a member of the Sycamore United Methodist Church, past president of the Golden Years Club of the church and a member and past commander of the American Legion 40-8. He was also an Army veteran of World War I, having served in France.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie of Sycamore, Illinois; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Grace) Szekeres of Sycamore; one son, Lloyd Holt of Brownsboro, Texas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and one brother, Elmer Hold of Decorah.

Edward F. Holt
Funeral services for Edward F. Holt were held on Monday, August 27, [1984] at the Riverside Cemetery in Riceville. He died Thursday, August 23 at the Sycamore Municipal Hospital in Sycamore, Illinois.
Edward Holt was born January 12, 1897 in rural Sycamore, the son of Franklin and Emma Richardson Holt. He was 87 years old when he died.
He was united in marriage to Bessie Oestreich on April 8, 1924 in Riceville. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on April 8, 1984. He was a member of Sycamore United Methodist Church, a past president of the Golden Years Club, and a member and past commander of the American Legion, a past commander of the 40-8 veterans group and a veteran of World War I. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Lloyd Holt of Brownsboro, Texas; a daughter, Mrs. Louis (Grace) Szekeres of Sycamore, Illinois; a brother, Elmer Holt of Decorah; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
