Death: Feb. 11, 1979Funeral Services for a Lyle area farmer, John Henry Farlinger, 65, who died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital February 11, were held February 14 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Lyle with the Rev. Harold Luecke officiating.
John H. Farlinger, son of George and Mathilda Farlinger was born in St. Paul, Minn. September 11, 1913. Following the death of his mother he made his home with Andrew and Ingeborg Knudsen until his marriage to Alta Dilling of Albert Lea, Minn. in 1935. One son, Earl was born to them.
Mr. Farlinger worked a short period of time at Wilson's Packing Plant in Albert Lea, then was employed at the Andrew Knudsens until 1942 when he started farming for himself in Union township near Lyle where he resided until his death.
He is survived by his wife, Alta and his son, Earl and daughter-in-law, Marlene, and five grandsons, Craig, Carlton, Curtis, Clinton, and Craig and Craig's wife, Pat; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Schlie of Oklahoma City, Okla,; Mrs. Clifford (Mildred) Nelson of Oakland, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Norman (Alta) Joynes of Albert Lea, Minn and nieces and nephews.
Burial was in Woodbury Cemetery west of Lyle with Rev. Luecke in charge of the committal services.
