Osage – Funeral rites were Monday for Earl C. Russell, 62, who died late Saturday afternoon of heart trouble and complications. He had not been well for several years and was bedridden the last three months.

He was born October 3, 1885, to Elden and Nettie (Ross) Russell, at Mitchell. As a child he moved with his parents to Burr Oak township, northeast of Osage. He lived in Chicago for a number of years, returning to Osage in 1928 where he has since resided.

While in Chicago he married Marie McCollum.

He leaves five sisters, Mrs. L. W. McCulla, Coldwater, Kansas; Mrs. Walter Seaton; Mrs. Roy Seaton; Mrs. Harry Naze; and Mrs. Edward Folkestad, Osage; and one brother, Ross. Preceding him in death was a brother Dorce in 1942.

Clifford was the son of Elden Russell and Annette "Nettie" Francis Ross.

After his father died in 1904, his mother married Morgan Titus.
