Elizabeth (Steiger) Hemann 1867-1962

Stacyville -- Funeral services were held Monday at the Sacred Heart Church, Meyer for Mrs. Peter T. Hemann, 94. The Rev. Joseph Vollmache officiated. Hatten Funeral Home was in charge.
Mrs. Hemann, who had been totally blind the last 13 years, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joe P. Koenigs.

Surviving are two sons, Joe and William; six daughters,Mrs. Joe P. (Katherine) Koenigs, Mrs. Edward (Regina) Wolf, Mrs. Hubert (Mary) Adams, Mrs. Edward (Pauline) Adams, Mrs. William (Margaret) Klapperich all of Stacyville and Meyer; Mrs. Monica Klapperich, Stratford, Wisconsin; a brother, Fred Steiger, Stacyville; a sister, Mrs. Christine Kearns, Oelwein ; 48 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Peter, and two sons, Carl and Henry. Mrs. Hemann was a pioneer in this area.

Elizabeth Steiger was born July 4, 1867 in Mitchell Co., Iowa, the daughter of Frank Steiger and Monica (Smith) Steiger. She married Peter Theodore Hemann, the son of Joseph Peter Huemann (aka Hemann) and Christiana (Zervas) Huemann.
