Charles Scheu Died
Sunday at Sister's
Home in Wisconsin

Charles Scheu, 58, died at the home of his sister, Sunday, July 19, after being ill for over a year. A stroke was responsible for his death. Funeral services were held at the Champion Funeral Home on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Frank Court officiating. He was buried in the Stacyville Cemetery.

Charles Henry Scheu, the oldest son of Julia and Charles Scheu was born at Stacyville, Iowa, November 28, 1876, and passed away on July 19, at Hartford Wisconsin.

He received his early education in the public schools of Stacyville, later attending Upper Iowa University, where he graduated from the music course and later took his pharmacy training in Highland Park College, Des Moines.

Mr. Scheu and his brother owned a drug store in Stacyville for a number of years and when this store was sold, he went to Waterloo, where he worked in a drug store as a pharmacist for ten years. The last ten years he was employed in Kane's Drug Store in Osage, which position he relinquished in December, two years ago, when he suffered his first stroke.

Since then he has made his home with his sister, Mrs. L. W. Frey, at Hartford, Wisconsin, and with his brother, H. C. Scheu, at Nashua.

Besides his brother and sister he is survived by three nieces and one nephew.

His hobby seemed to be working with the beautiful. He not only was a fine musician, but he also did some painting. He loved birds and flowers and during the latter years of his life took upon himself the task of beautifying the cemetery at Stacyville. He spent his own time and money in keeping this cemetery beautiful.
