Mrs. Julius Johnson, 51, a resident of this community most of her life, died at her home near Otranto at noon Sunday, after an illness of four weeks. Funeral services were conducted today at the Norwegian Lutheran church at two o'clock and interment was made in the Norwegian cemetery north of town.
During her illness Mrs. Johnson had suffered with severe headaches, and it is believed that her death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage or embolism. She is survived by her husband and eight children.
Martha Ringham, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Ringham, was born in Germany, January 21, 1882. When she was 13 years of age, her parents emigrated to America and came to live in this community. October 28, 1899, she was married to Julius Johnson and they lived near Carpenter, later living on several farms in this community. Eleven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson, three of whom preceded her in death. The surviving children are: Oscar, Otranto; Mrs. Peter Marcusson, north of St. Ansgar; Mrs. Mandeville Austenson, LeRoy; Mrs. Harold De Maris, Otranto; one son, Emil and three daughters, Esther, Nellie and Mildred, live at home. One brother, Otta Ringham, of Milwaukee, and two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bauman of Milwaukee and Mrs. M.A. Christensen of St. Ansgar, and three grandchildren also survive.

The funeral of Mrs. Julius Johnson of Otranto, was held at the First Lutheran church Wednesday afternoon, conducted by Rev O.A. Langehough. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband and eight children. She was a sister of Mrs. M.A. Christianson, of St. Ansgar.
