Funeral services for Mrs. Ole M. Johnson, whose death occured Thursday morning, January 8, 1931, were held at the St. Olaf Lutheran church in Austin on Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock, the Rev. Henry Noss officiating. Interment was in the First Lutheran cemetery, St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Nellie May Smith was born near Austin, June 17, 1883. Her girlhood was spent at her home near Lyle.

She was united in marriage to Ole M. Johnson, November 18, 1905. Until the last four years they made their home on Mr. Johnson's farm near St. Ansgar, where they have a large circle of friends. Four years ago, they moved to the Savage farm, six miles southeast of Austin, her mother's girlhood home.

Mrs. Johnson suffered from ill health for several years, but her death was caused by an attack of dropsy and leakage of the heart.

She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and three children, Mildred, who is attending the Normal Department at Kasson, and Olaf and Marjorie, who are with their father at home. The older daughter, Adeline, died at the age of nine years. Mrs. Johnson's father, George Smith, and three brothers, Albert and Leonard of Ruso, N.D., and Herbert of Minneapolis also mourn the loss of an only daughter and sister. Her mother passed away five years ago, and her brother, Ross, in 1918.

Mrs. Johnson was a devoted wife and mother, who loved her home and her friends. Her house was the scene of many a pleasent neighborhood gathering, and she enjoyed performing her social duties as long as her health and strength permitted. She was a member of the St. Ansgar Lutheran Church and of the Ladies Aid.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were George Smith of Ruso, N.D., Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Smith of Minneapolis, Miss Olive Savage of Kasson, Mr. Howard Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Roy McCammon of St. Paul, Mr. and Mrs. Magnus Hansen, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Helmer Hanson, Carl and Julius Kittleson, Orlando Johnson and Gust Johnson all of St. Ansgar.
