Rites Pending
ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Funeral services are pending for Kenneth Johnson, 52, who died Friday evening at the farm home of his brother, Selmer, where he made his home. He had been an invalid for many years.
Survivors include his brother, Selmer; another brother Alvin, of Orchard, Iowa; and his father George.
Houg and Schroeder Funeral Home in charge.

#2:Funeral services for Kenneth M. Johnson, 53, who died at the farm home of his brother, Selmer, where he had been cared for during a long period of illness Saturday, September 14, 1957, were held Wednesday, September 18 at the home at 1:30 P.M. and at the First Lutheran church at 2 P.M. with Rev. Don Hamilton officiating.
Kenneth Melvin Johnson was born on a farm one and a half miles south of St. Ansgar November 14, 1904, the third son of George J. and Mathilda (Halvorson) Johnson. He was baptized December 15, and on October 24, 1920 confirmed by the Rev. M.E. Waldeland.
He attended the Erickson rural school and as a young man was employed in farm work in this area. He had been in ill health since 1923, and for many years a helpless invalid. Medical aid was sought in Iowa City and Rochester to no avail. Mr. Johnson was always cheerful and uncomplaining through his years of suffering.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Moris several years ago and his mother who died two and a half years ago. Survivors include his aged father, brother, Selmer with whom he made his home, and a brother, Alvin of near Orchard; also four nieces.
Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery with Rev. Hamilton in charge of the committal services.
