Marion Jensen was born at Veggerslav, Denmark, March 14, 1884, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jensen, and passed away August 27, 1958 at Rochester, Minnesota.
He was baptized in the Veggerslav church about May 1, 1884. In April, 1898, he was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the Veggerslav church.
At the age of 18 he came to the United States, living in Mitchell county, most of his years in the Otranto community.
His life was devoted to his family and his farm work. He was a careful and expert farmer and took great pride in his animals and crops.
With failing health he retired fourteen years ago to his home in Otranto, maintaining keen interest in his children's homes and work. His home on the hill is a testimonial of his love and joy in working with growing things in the great out of doors.
He was married to Cecelia Hansen, November 18, 1911. He is survived by his wife, five sons and three daughters: Orlo of St. Ansgar; Arthur and Clarence of Osage; Harold of Audubon, and Merle of Kensett; Mrs. Maurine Moore of Otranto; Mrs. Virgil Beuerman of Portsmouth, Virginia, and Mrs. Selmer Johnson of St. Ansgar.
He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, one sister, Sine; of Denmark, and one brother, Bertel of Cedar Falls.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers and two sisters.
