Funeral services for Rasmus J. Jorgensen, 96, who died at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage February 26, 1966, were held March 1 at the First Lutheran church here with the Rev. Don Comnick officiating.

Rasmus Jacob Jorgensen was born July 6, 1869 at Lindelsee, Langeland, Denmark, the son of Anton and Anne (Hansen) Jorgensen. He was baptized August 2, 1869 at the Lindelsee Lutheran church, and was confirmed at the Sanby Lutheran church.

In May 1891 he emigrated to the United States from Liverpool, England on the vessel, Dominion of Canada. A short time later he came to the St. Ansgar community and worked on the farms in this territory.

On February 26, 1898 he was united in marriage to Julie L. Carlson of St. Ansgar. They made their home on a farm east of St. Ansgar until a few years ago when it became necessary for them to have help to care for them.

Two sons were born to this union, Victor and Ralph. His wife preceded him in death in May, 1965. Surviving are his two sons, Victor of Osage and Ralph of St. Ansgar; also two grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Burial was in the St. Ansgar cemetery with Rev. Comnick in charge of the committal service.
