Mina Gerhart taken by death

Funeral services for a Stacyville area woman, Mrs. Mina Gerhart, 95, were held Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Toeterville. Mrs. Gerhart died October 8, 1980, at the Stacyville Nursing Home. The Reverend Robert Kruemple, pastor, was in charge of the rites and burial was in the cemetery at Union Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were by C. R. Champion and Sons.

Mina Barwind was born in Union Township, Mitchell County, May 20, 1885, the daughter of George and Anna (Decker) Barwind. She remained a resident of that area all of her life.

Fred Gerhart and Mina Barwind were married on October 9, 1909 and farmed in Union Township. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Gerhart made her home on the family farm with her sons.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Fred; her parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are her sons, Grant and Harold; and four grandsons: Dr. Grant Gerhart of Troy, Michigan, Fred of Philadelphia, Steven of Cedar Rapids, Dr. Craig Gerhart of Ankeny; and four great-grandchildren.
