OSAGE, IOWA - Vincent E. Wagner, 66, of rural Osage, died Sunday, November 26, 2000, suddenly at his home of natural causes.
Vincent was born February 9, 1934, in Stacyville, the son of Earl and Aterna (Falk) Wagner. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After he returned from the service he began a farming partnership with his father and brother.
Vincent was united in marriage to Dorothy Wegman on June 2, 1959, at St. Charles, Minn. They farmed in the Osage area until his death. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Osage Veterans of Foreign Wars and the North Iowa Cattle Marketing Association, where he was a founding board member. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren, fishing, sports, telephone conversations and his cattle.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Osage, with the Rev. Philip Recker officiating. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Osage, with military rites at the grave conducted by the Osage Veterans of Foreign War Post 7920.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, where there will be a scripture service at 7 p.m. and a Knights of Columbus rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wagner, of Osage; two sons, Mark Wagner and his wife, Becky, and their children, Briana, Britney and Vincent, all of Osage; and John Wagner and his wife, Linda Mason, of Sioux City; three daughters, Kay Comisky and her husband, Steve, and their children, Haley and Jon of Rochester, Minn., Sherry Smith and her husband, Tom of Burnsville, Minn., and Debra Olson and her husband, T.J., of Rochester, Minn.; two sisters, Evelyn Gibson of Lamont, and Delores Kroneman and her husband, Glen, of Carpenter; and two brothers, Paul Wagner and his wife, Minerva, of Osage and Robert Wagner and his wife, Marlene of Osage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Lucille Johnson; one niece, Kathy Johnson; and one nephew, Michael Wagner.
