Rites Saturday for
Clifford Gast, 52OSAGE, IOWA - Funeral services for Clifford Gast, 52, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the Champion funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, the Rev. S. O. Sorlien officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Creek Cemetery.
Mr. Gast, well known farmer west of Osage, died at a hospital here Thursday afternoon. He was born on a farm northeast of Nora Springs on July 31, 1896, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Gast. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include the widow, four sons, Clyndon, George and Dick of Osage, Bill on the home farm, and one daughter, Marlys, at home, a brother, Glen, of Nora Springs, and a sister, Mrs. Robert Tresemer, Sherburn, Minnesota.

The book MITCHELL COUNTY HISTORY, 1989, states that Clifford's wife was Alma Paulson Gast (1887-1975). They were married in 1918. Alma moved into Osage after Clifford's death and lived there until she died. Clifford's parents were George (1868-1943) and Bertha Roehr Gast (1874-1939) They were married in 1893.(By Bill Gast)
