Viola HolstadFuneral rites for a former Toeterville woman, Mrs. Arnold Holstad (Viola), 55, of Mason City, who died November 17 at a Mason City hospital, will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday at Trinity Lutehran Church there.
Viola Koethke was born in Mitchell County October 13, 1925, the daughter of Elmer and Lydia Schroeder Koethke. She was married to Arnold Holstad and they spent their married life in Mason City.
Surviving are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. David Suhl (Vicki) of Minneapolis and Mrs. James Rager (Nancy) of Forest City; one grandson; her mother, Mrs. Lydia Koethke and one brother, Allen Koethke of Toeterville.

MASON CITY- Funeral services for Mrs. Arnold (Viola) M. Holstad, 55, 24 Sunny Circle, who died on Monday, November 17, 1980, at a Mason City hospital, will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.
The Reverend Lavern R. Hanson will officiate and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.
Visitation will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, Mason City.
A graduate of St. Ansgar High School, Mrs. Holstad was employed from 1947-1949 at the St. Ansgar Bank. She married Arnold Holstad in 1949 in Mitchell County, and they moved to Mason City from Northwood in 1960. She was employed at the Sears-Target Shopping Center branch of the American State Bank, Mason City, for 20 years, serving as manager the past three years. Mrs. Holstad was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Mason City.
The family requests memorials be made to radio station, KCMR, of Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold, Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. David (Vicki) Suhl, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Mrs. James (Nancy) Ragar, Forest City; one grandson, Joshua, Minneapolis, Minnesota; her mother, Mrs. Elmer (Lydia) Koethke, St. Ansgar, and one brother, Allen Koethke, St. Ansgar.
