MONA RESIDENT DIES AFTER HEART ATTACKST. ANSGAR, IOWA – Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Mona Church for Oscar Thompson, 64, who died suddenly of a heart attack Tuesday afternoon at his home at Mona.
Burial rites will be held in the First Lutheran Cemetery, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. O. A. Langehough, pastor of the First Lutheran Church, St. Ansgar, in charge of both services.

OSCAR CLARENCE THOMPSON 1881 - 1945
Oscar Clarence Thompson, son of Knute and Martha Thompson, was born near Mona, Iowa, May 21, 1881. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On May 23, 1909, he was united in marriage to Hannah Hanson. To this union one daughter was born.
He has farmed on the same place since 1911, passing away suddenly from a heart attack on July 3 at 12:40 p.m., having reached the age of 64 years, 1 month and 12 days.
Mr. Thompson had been a member of the Otranto school board for many years, serving as its president. He was an active and interested member of the Mona Church, serving at the time of his death as treasurer of the congregation.
His hobby was woodworking and he spent many leisure hours making fine inlaid furniture for the home.
He is survived by his widow, his daughter, Mrs. Clifford Nelson, who resides on the home farm; one granddaughter, Merna Nelson; one brother, Adolph, of Lyle; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Onnestad of South Range, Wisconsin, and Ella Thompson of Malta, Montana; also a cousin, Miss Josie Thompson of Madison, Wisconsin, who was raised with the family.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in the Mona church with the Rev. Olaf Thompson** of St. Ansgar officiating. Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery at St. Ansgar.
Those from away who attended the services were Mrs. E.B. Sherman of Wibaux, Montana, and Mrs. B.L. Sherman of Fargo, North Dakota.

**It is believed this obituary was in error, and the pastor should be Olaf Langehough.
