Whatever might have been the ordinary duration of human life in ancient bible times now it is an exceedingly rare thing for a person to reach the century mark. However if Mrs. Ingaborg Hanson who died on Monday of last week had lived until the 14th of April she would have been one hundred years old.
Not only did she live to this advanced age but until a very brief time before her death she was in full possession of all her faculties.
The last few months of her life her strength began to fail and then gradually faded away without apparantly much sickness or suffering.
Mrs. Ingaborg Hanson was born at Col, Hallingdal, Norway April 14th, 1810. There she was baptized and confirmed. She was married to Ole Hanson. Their marriage was blessed with 11 children of whom 9 are dead. They lived in Hallingdal, Norway till 1866 when they emigrated to the United States and settled in Worth County. Here she has lived till her death.
Her husband died in 1881 at the age of over 73 years.
Mrs. Hanson reached the advanced age of 99 years, 8 months, and 26 days.
The funeral took place at the Deer Creek Church. The remains were laid to rest in the U.N.L. Cemetery north of St. Ansgar. Her two surviving children, Mr. Ole Hanson and Mrs. Bjorn Ellingson were present at the funeral.
