ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Kathryn Turner, 73, of St. Ansgar died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society in St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, at United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar with the Rev. Peter Chang officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Little Cedar, Iowa.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA - Kathryn L. Turner, 73, of St. Ansgar died Monday, January 10, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 13, at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.Kathryn L. Turner was born September 18, 1937, to Claus and Helen (Henrichs) Larsen in Sibley, Iowa. She was baptized January 17, 1957, at Reformed Church in America at Little Rock, Iowa.
She was united in marriage to Leslie Roy Turner on June 8, 1957, at Salem Reform Church parsonage in Little Rock, Iowa. After their wedding in Little Rock, Kathy's hometown, the couple moved to Cedar Falls where Les attended the Iowa State Teachers College (University of Northern Iowa) to complete his education degree. While in Cedar Falls, the couple was blessed with their first child, Laurene.
Employment with the Osage Community School District brought the family to Osage, where two more children, Rodney and Raymond, were born. The Turners lived in the Osage and Little Cedar area until 1967, when they moved to Hawkeye, Iowa, in order for Kathy to complete her bachelor's degree at Upper Iowa University.
In 1969, both Les and Kathy obtained teaching positions with the St. Ansgar School District, where she was St. Ansgar School District librarian for 10 years.
On December 9, 1998, Kathy moved into Good Samaritan Society, St. Ansgar.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Laurene.
Kathy is survived by her husband, Les, of St. Ansgar; two sons, Rod (Tish) of Clear Lake and Ray of St. Ansgar; two granddaughters Chelsea (Cort) Aherns of Toledo, Iowa, and Bailey Turner of Clear Lake; brother, Robert (Terry) Jurrens of Spencer, Wis.; two sisters, Glenda Lancaster of Rushmore, Minn., and Judy (Robert) Welch of Minneapolis, Minn.
