Funeral services for Lela Mae Hegland were held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the First Lutheran church in St. Ansgar. The Rev. Olaf A. Langehough had charge of the services. Burial was in the First Lutheran cemetery.
Lela Mae Hegland, daughter of Lars and Mary Hegland was born in St. Ansgar, March 12, 1883, and passed away at the Lady of Good Council Rest Home at St. Paul, Minnesoata, on August 26, 1945, after a long illness. She had attained the age of 62 years, 5 months and 14 days.
The most of her life was spent in St. Ansgar where she made her home at the T.H. Hume residence for 20 years. She took nurse's training and graduated from St. Mary's hospital in Duluth. Her last years were spent with her brother, B.T. Hegland, in Minneapolis.
She is survived by her brothers, Thomas and B.T. Hegland of Minneapolis and a sister, Alice, of Chicago, also seven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and oldest brother, Cleve.
Pallbearers were Avery Halvorson, Luther Tollefson, Adolph Groth, Louis Howe, Robert Helgand and Bill Hegland.
Relatives from Alden, Minnesota, Albert Lea, Charles City, Minneapolis, and Madison, Wisconsin, were present for the services.
