MELVIN ADAMS
STACYVILLE, IOWA - Melvin Adams, 63, died Thursday, October 21, 1999, at his home in Stacyville of natural causes.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Visitation Catholic Church in Stacyville with the Rev. Joseph Schneider officiating. Inurnment will be at Visitation Cemetery with military rites by the Stacyville Legion Post 569.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the church hall with a wake service beginning at 7 p.m.
Champion Funeral Home of Osage is in charge of all arrangements.
Melvin was born March 5, 1936, at Stacyville, the son of Benedict F. and Caroline (Weber) Adams. He attended Visitation School in Stacyville.
Melvin served in the U. S. Army at Fort Lewis, Wash., for two years. After service he returned to Stacyville and was employed by Stacyville Lumber for many years.
Melvin was a member of the Austin Eagles Club and the Catholic Order of Foresters. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR Winston Cup racing and attended many races.
He is survived by one brother, Gerald Adams of Osage; one sister-in-law, Jennie Adams of Osage; and many nieces and nephews.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ray.
