Mildred M. (nee Laga) Conrad 1921-2000

Mildred Conrad passed away on May 12, 2000.
Mildred (Laga) Conrad was born December 21, 1921 in Mitchell County, Iowa to Andrew and Mary Julia (Pravic) Laga, immigrants from Austria- Bohemia Czechoslovakia. In March of 1930 the family moved to Austin Minnesota. In September 1930 her father purchased 5 acres of land and a residence in Osage from Charles Hungerford and moved his family back to Osage before he went to work for the Hormel Plant in Austin for the winter.
She married Fred Conrad in September 2, 1945 in Crown Point, Indiana, the son of Henry Conrad and Mary (Heimer) Conrad of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Edward Laga who passed away in 1976.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Tom Diers, Stillwater, Minnesota; Mrs. Walter Sheldon, Northfield, Illinois, and a son Daniel. Also surviving are two sisters; Bessie Douglas, Spring Hill, Florida and Haddie Klabacha, Evergreen Park, Illinois.

CONRAD-LAGA MARRIAGE
Little Cedar, Iowa – Fred Conrad, son of Mrs. Mary Conrad, was married to Mildred Lage, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andy Laga of Osage, Sunday, at Crown Point, Indiana. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Chester Klabacha, brother-in-law and sister of the bride.
Mrs. Conrad has been employed in Chicago for the past several months. Mr. Conrad is employed at the local garage and also drives a school bus. They will make their home here.
