RICEVILLE - Janet S. Fox, 87, of Riceville, passed away on Thursday (May 11, 2000) at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville, with the Rev. Herschel Hawf officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Lindstrom Funeral home in Riceville.
Janet was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on June 30, 1912, to James G. and Jeanie (Black) Smith. She attended local schools and graduated from high school in Waterloo.
On Oct. 30, 1933, Janet was united in marriage to Theis Fox in Waterloo. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to their farm in rural Riceville.
Survivors include one son, James and his wife, Rita, of Wabasha, Minn.; and one daughter, Carol Lou and her husband, Adolph Brunner, of Riceville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Theis, on August 2, 1963; a daughter in infancy; a grandson, Dale E. Brunner, on July 19, 1976; one brother, Don W. Smith; and one sister, Alice J. Warner.
