Richard Henry Fiddick – March 11, 1845 -- February 20, 1930

FEDDICK RITES HELD IN OSAGE
R. H. FIDDICK, VETERAN MERCHANT,
WILL BE BURIED IN GALENA, ILL.

Osage, Feb. 22 – Funeral services were held here today for Richard Henry Fiddick, who for years was a near neighbor and close friend of General U. S. Grant in Galena, Illinois, and who died Thursday forenoon at the home of son, R. A. Fiddick in Osage.

Mr. Fiddick was born March 11, 1845 in England, but for many years had lived at Galena, Ill., and in Osage where he was in the mercantile business a part of the time with F. J. Cromer.

Surviving are his son, R. A. Fiddick, cashier in the Home Trust Savings Bank, and a daughter, Mrs. Bert (Florence) Day of Iowa City. Burial will be in Galena.

Richard Henry Fiddick was born March 11, 1845 in England, the son of William Fiddick and Philippa (Bastian) Fiddick. He married Frances Alden on August 27, 1868 in Illinois, the daughter of Cyrus and Lucy Alden.
