PIONEER OF ST. ANSGAR
DIES OF HEART ATTACK

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA – Mrs. Albert C. Bartz, 72 died suddenly Sunday of a heart ailment while attending church services at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church. She had been in frail health for some time.

Mrs. Bartz was born on a farm near St. Ansgar and had lived in St. Ansgar and vicinity all her life.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon with prayer service at the house at 1:45 and at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Theodore J Eickelberg officiating.

Burial will be in the West cemetery, St. Ansgar.

Bertha (Berndt) was the daughter of William Berndt and Dorothea (Dutte) Berndt. She married Albert Carl Bartz 1872-1951, the son of August and Albertina (Bruss) Bartz.
