Mrs. George Errington
Lucy A. Jennisen, daughter of Charles and Alice Jennison, was born in Oakdale Township, Howard County, Iowa, August 6, 1873, and died at her home north of McIntire, Iowa, April 13, 1936.
She was educated in the Howard County rural schools. When 18 years of age she joined the Baptist Church and was a faithful member and an active worker, both in the church and Ladies' Aid when her health permitted.
She was united in marriage to George Errington on July 3, 1893. Their home was blessed with two daughters, Mrs. Edna Staley, a teacher in the McIntire schools' and Gladys, Mrs. Amos Stewart, McIntire.
Mrs. Errington was a loving mother and a kind friend and neighbor. Although her health did not permit her taking an active part in social activities, her home was always open to the young people, and it gave her great pleasure to see them happy.
Besides her husband and daughters she leaves to mourn her passing seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one brother, Sam Jennisen, Riceville; four sisters, Mrs. Ed Jaqua, Corydon, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Lambert, Hereford, Texas, and Mrs. George Shepherd, Fredrick, Wisconsin, and Mrs. Herbert Morrett, Corydon, Iowa; and many nephews and nieces. One sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the Reverend Bodenham, and burial was in the cemetery east of McIntire.
