MARVIN J. BRANDAU
OSAGE, IOWA - Marvin J. Brandau, 83, of Osage, died Thursday (Jan. 4, 2001) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 8, at the Eden Presbyterian Church, 3105 Glass Ave. in rural Rudd, with the Rev. John Bates officiating. Interment will be in Presbyterian Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home, 702 State. St. in Osage and will continue one hour prior to services at the church.
Marvin was born on October 24, 1917, north of Rudd, the son of Gus and Molly (Wohlers) Brandau. He graduated from Rudd High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Marvin was united in marriage to Pearl Sinning on November 27, 1947. They farmed north of Rudd until they retired to Osage in 1974.
He was a member of the Eden Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed playing cards, fishing and golfing and winters in Southern California.
Marvin is survived by his wife, Pearl, of Osage; one son, Richard Brandau, of Sudbury, Mass.; three sisters, Dorothy Brandau and her husband, Clinton, of Osage, Irma Glader and her husband, Gilbert, of Wildwood, Illinois, and Bernadine Llewellyn and her husband, James, of Lake Forest, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Chester Brandau.
