OSAGE WOMAN DIES AT 71, RITES PENDING

Osage – Mrs. Betty Woodward, 71, died Wednesday morning at a Rochester, Minn., hospital. She had suffered a cerebral hemorrhage five days ago at her home here. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Champion Funeral Home.

Born near Osage, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clay. She was working as a medical assistant until retiring three years ago.

Surviving are a sister, Miss Marjorie Clay, Osage; a brother, Sam Clay, Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clell Woodward.

Bette Jane Clay was the daughter of Henry Clay and Alma (Benson) Clay. She married Clell Vinton Woodward, the son of Burton Seldon Woodward and Martha Jane (Smith) Woodward. Her husband died April 12, 1961 in Sherman Oaks, LA County, California and was buried there.
