Egbert “Bert” Lewis 1871-1899
Mr. Winslow Lewis, of Iowa, some of our readers will be pained to hear had another son killed on the train Dec. 10th in this state. Egbert Lewis was head brakeman on a freight train colliding with another train. He was riding on the engine at the time. He couldn't jump and was scalded to death. He lived but a few hours after the accident. It was an awful death. His brother Marion took his remains to Iowa. He was to have been married on New Years day.
