MARIUS MATHIESEN
FORMER RESIDENT OF MITCHELL,
SUCCUMBS

Mitchell, Iowa – Marius Mathiesen, 45, died at St. Olaf hospital at Austin, Minnesota, Monday morning following a several weeks’ illness from jaundice and complications.

He lived in and near Mitchell his entire life until the family moved to Austin, Minn., a few years ago.

His widow and two daughters survive, Dorothy and LaVonne. Also surviving are his father, Nels Mathiesen, three brothers and one sister, Pete and Link near Mitchell, Andrew and Emma at home.

The funeral will be held in the Lutheran church at Austin, Minnesota, at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and burial will be made on the family lot in the Osage cemetery.

Marius Mathiesen was born October 29, 1895 in Mitchell, Mitchell, Iowa according to his World War I draft registration. He was the son of Nels and Katherine Mathiesen.
