ANNA STONECYPHER

OSAGE, IOWA - Anna Stonecypher, 91, of Osage, died Wednesday (March 17, 1999) at the Faith Home in Osage.

Anna was born January 21, 1908, near Floyd, the daughter of William and Mary (Tjaden) Hess. She attended country school and Floyd schools. Anna married Ted Stonecypher Dec. 4, 1937, and they made their home on a farm south of Osage. In 1977 the couple moved into Osage. Ted died in 1992. Anna moved to the Evergreen Apartments in 1996 and has been a resident of Faith Home since November. Anna and Ted enjoyed square dancing, the Senior Center, and also traveling and crafts. Anna enjoyed her garden and baking.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Osage, with the Rev. Arthur Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Champion Funeral Home in Osage.

Anna is survived by one son, Ray Stonecypher and his wife, Marjorie, of Floyd; a former daughter-in-law, Helen Cross, of Charles City; six grandchildren, Denise Tjaden of Dumont, David Stonecypher of South Dakota, Tony Stonecypher and his wife, Kelly, of Floyd, Rhea Bender and her husband, Aaron, of Mason City, Rhonda Brougher and her husband, John, of Nora Springs, and John Stonecypher and his wife, Karen, of Mason City; four step grandchildren, David Lechner of Corpus Christi, Texas, Deneen Lechner of Osage, James Lechner of Clear Lake, and Dana Lechner and his wife, Nancy, of Corpus Christi, Texas; and a special friend and caregiver, Mary Schallock of Osage.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, one grandson and three brothers.
