John Galt Died
Tuesday MorningJohn Galt, about 75 years of age, passed away early Tuesday morning, after a couple of weeks illness, following a stroke of paralysis. He had been feeble for a long time, however.
Mr. Galt was a resident of the Otranto vicinity for a good many years.
Surviving are his three children – Mrs. Charles Mackin, Osage; Mrs. Irene Anderson, and Clifford Galt, of St. Ansgar.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 1:30 at the Champion Funeral Home in charge of the Reverend T. P. Solen and burial made in a cemetery near Lyle.

John I. Galt
John I. Galt was born on December 12, 1859, in Cooksville, Rock County, Wisconsin, and at the age of seven came to Iowa with his parents, settling in Mitchell county, later moving to Myrtle, Minnesota.
In 1886 he was united in marriage to Jesse Sturdevant, of Cooksville, Wisconsin, and they made their home at Otranto.
To this union were born three children: CLifton B., of St. Ansgar; Irene Anderson, Meltonville; and Hazel Mackin, Osage. His wife preceded him in death four years ago.
He leaves to mourn his passing, besides his children, five grandchildren, two brothers and several nieces and nephews. At the time of his death he was 76 years, 4 months and 2 days old.
The funeral service was held at the Champion Funeral Home Thursday at 1:30 p.m., and interment was made in Woodbury cemetery,near Lyle, Minnesota.
