Orchard – Mrs. Eno Onken, 50, died Thursday at her home in Orchard following several month’s illness. She was born June 6, 1896, at Minonk, Illinois, daughter of John and Johanna (nee Leffers) Rademacher. She spent her girlhood in Illinois and was married to Eno Onken in 1913 at Minonk. They spent the first four years in Illinois, then came to Iowa settling at Floyd, then near Charles City, and finally Orchard.She leaves 13 children; Martha Onken Lohuis, El Cerrito, Cal.; Walter, New Hampton; John, Charles City; Edward, Orchard; George, Oakland, Cal.; Arthur, Osage; James, New Hampton; Pvt. Frank Onken, Ft. Lewis, Wash.; Jennibelle; Eno; Keith; Dorothy; and Donna, all at home. One daughter, Elizabeth, preceded her mother in death.
She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ivan Lane, Charles City, and Mrs. Alvina Kohler, St. Paul, Minn.; three brothers, Edmund Rademacher, Floyd; Herman Rademacher, Charles City; and George Rademacher, Floyd.
Preceding her in death was one brother, William Rademacher. There are 11 grandchildren.Waterloo Daily Courier, Thursday, October 10, 1946
